In the Tarot Cards, The High Priestess can be said to be the source, the wellspring of matters of the mind. Here we encounter the underlying principles of integrity and authenticity.
Pillars of impressive girth and height flank The High Priestess. These pillars seem to make an attempt to contain her and her presence: or is it her omnipresence? These pillars must be passed to enter the Temple of the Universe.
The Pillar of Wisdom is a symbol for the Fellowcraft Mason and alludes to the fact only the wise apprentices were advanced to the degree of Fellow who fit the stones into their proper places. In some lodges, this pillar is called the Pillar of Establishment because Fellows are "established" The Joachin Pillar is also called the Pillar of Fire in some orders.
Some refer to it as the Left Hand of God.
As the balance point between Strength and Wisdom, the female aspect of The High Priestess cannot be denied
She is the tie that binds… In Esoteric Freemasonry, the Middle Pillar is called the Pillar of Jehovah or 'Yod Heh Vau Heh' though it is also referred to as the Pillar of Balance. These pillars form a gate through which the adept passes to enter the sanctuary of the High Priestess
Focus on these pillars and contemplate on what must be known, understood, embraced and heeded to pass through this gate. For a free tarot reading use this link.
