Embrace Kindness

"How would your week have been different
if you did everything with love and kindness?"
- Tina Nies

Last month's Mandela Effect conference was truly wonderful! I still feel a fullness (and ache) of love in my heart, with deep gratitude to everyone who participated and made this gathering so inspirational, rejuvenating, and fun. It was so wonderful to be with our Mandela Effect family at this conference—with others who you can say something like "I remember it like this, but now it's like that," and most everyone in the room understands.  It is such an indescribable feeling to be in the presence of a whole room full of ME-affected individuals, where there is no need to explain or be defensive, since most everyone's starting off right at that same experiential place.  People described this event with words like 'magical,' 'surreal,' and 'amazing'—and said 'it feels more like a retreat than a conference.' To me, it felt like home.

The host and organizer, Jerry Hicks, observed that this event felt almost like it organized itself, and also that those involved in creating this event had 'no ego'—so there was a true sense of everyone pulling together with a common purpose. All participants contributed a beautiful sense of camaraderie, sincerity, and authenticity that took the energy of this event into the stratosphere.

Now that this conference is over, I can't help sensing that something truly wonderful has now just begun, thanks to all of us bringing our individual perspectives together into such a beautiful thought-form.  I'm sure there will be future events after the success of this first one, in terms of the energy, focus, and attention from HBO--as well as the feature length Mandela Effect movie coming out next month.

There were several short streaming videos made during the conference that can give you a bit of a feel for it, such as this one: https://youtu.be/xsDS9-ve7h0

Idaho Mandela Effect Conference panelists 2019
In addition to that, one of our speakers (Christopher Anatra, "The Quantum Businessman") recorded the entire conference as well as interviews—so that means all six of the talks and all the panels with the speakers can be made available in a month or two.  Also, the cable channel HBO was there recording for three days during the conference, to create a Mandela Effect special for HBO. And here is a video of a post-conference panel discussion which is posted on YouTube at:

Kindness has been on my mind quite a bit recently, since it's presence can make such a positive difference in our health and quality of life. Did you know that it's possible to increase your experience of kindness in your life. How can you share a little bit more kindness with yourself and the world? Hopefully you know yourself better than anyone else, and therefore are in the perfect position to think kind thoughts about yourself and others, say kind things to yourself and others, and do kind things for yourself and others.

Practicing these simple thoughts, communications, and actions of kindness have a remarkably soothing effect that I find greatly diminishes the stress that I feel. I've actively been doing this for myself since I was a teenager noticing intermittant heart flutters, or atrial fibrillation. Over the past four decades, I was able to observe a built-in stress detector that showed me real-time how I was doing with regard to keeping myself calm—or not. What I learned has been rather similar to the main point of the recent book, The Rabbit Effect, by Dr. Kelli Harding, in which doctors have made note of rabbit studies that show that rabbits who are given identical care in terms of food, rest, shelter, and other forms of care, but who receive genuine tender loving kindness—experience no adverse effects of dietary inadequacies. The doctors in this book came to recognize that kindness, as expressed in gentle words, gentle actions, and love—make all the difference in reducing and eliminating emotional stress, which then enables rabbits to thrive in challenging situations.

Real-time Biofeedback to Embrace Kindness

I have recently come to realize that I've been blessed to receive real-time biofeedback that helped me keep my mind calm and peaceful by embracing kindness, regardless what was going on around me. Thanks to my heart flutters that were with me for decades, since I was a teenager, I instantly received feedback the moment I began to engage in less-than-kind internal thoughts and feelings. Fortunately, even though my AFib symptoms have disappeared, I retain the benefits of having practiced inner kindness for decades of my life, to the point that this is now my daily practice. I feel deeply grateful that I have developed these decades-long emotional habits of releasing stressors, rather than taking them on, because I so appreciate the value of living life this way. In our western world, there are unspoken social expectations that we 'should' feel a sense of social anxiety if we are not doing what others are doing, including times when those around us are feeling stress caused by holding feelings of inner shame, guilt, judgement, or a wide range of other social expectations of how we 'should' feel regarding how others around us behave. I had a built-in biofeedback system that helped me stay on one path—the path of no internal disharmony—which required I could not engage in any kinds of social internal disharmonies, either.

The chief way I have learned to do this is by being my own best friend, and by ensuring that I do not hold on to stressful thoughts, feelings, beliefs, or ideas. The main tool in my toolkit has been kindness, which I bring to myself at all times, and do my best also to share with the world. Some people feel that living a life of inner kindness is weakness, but it is not. There is no need to be cruel to oneself or others in order to be strong, since true strength always comes from love, not fear. Kindness, love, and compassion are the greatest strengths we can possess, though they may seem to appear quiet and reserved.

While you might not so easily be able to tell what your own levels of kindness might be, you can gain a sense of how others are doing, if you ever happen to encounter them when they feel they are alone. These times of being with oneself and the Cosmos provide a baseline foundation of kindness levels. When you reduce the stress you are holding, and increase the amount of kind thoughts, words, and actions you embody, you will have a powerful, visceral healing effect in the world for yourself and for everyone's life you touch.

Love always,

(3) Your Reality Shift Stories

Dilemma of a Shift
London, Ontario, Canada

I am one of a group of people who recall being taught a different spelling of the word dilemma. I was taught that the word was spelled as dilemna. As a student I was always at the top of my class for spelling and always first in the spelling bees. One of my tricks for remembering the spelling of words was to sound them out phonetically in my mind, so that I could recall unusual spellings. One day as an adult I was reading something written by a friend and he had included the word dilemma as it is currently spelled. I remember wondering why someone so educated would make such a spelling error. It bothered me enough to look up the word. I was shocked to find the spelling in the dictionary lacked the letter n. It bothered me so much that I began investigating it. It seems that there is a group of people, who for no apparent reason, were taught to spell the word with the letter n. No one seems able to explain why, I suspect a reality shift.

Note from Cynthia: Thank you so very much for writing to me about the "Dilemna Dilemma."  I'm especially heartened to hear that (1) you were such a good speller in school that you came in first in spelling bees, and (2) you practiced the art of sounding words out phonetically in your mind, in order to better commit the spelling to memory.  I also prided myself as being a fairly good speller, though I didn't participate in spelling bees, so I know first-hand what it feels like to mentally "sound out" the way a word would sound if every single part of it were voiced.  Thanks to your having practiced this with the word "dilemna" you could thus be certain that you were learning to spell it correctly, based on how it was spelled at that time.  Yes, I do believe this qualifies as a reality shift—and since so many other people also remember this as you do--a Mandela Effect.

Mysterious Disappearing Purse and Self
South Windsor, Connecticut, USA

I will always remember the day of our daughter's High School graduation. I woke up and could not find my purse anywhere in the house. I prayed and frantically searched everywhere. My husband helped me to search before he had to leave for work. The purse was nowhere to be found. I dropped our daughter off at school and went back to the grocery store where I gone the night before, thinking that I might have left it in a shopping cart. I checked with customer service, and nobody had turned in a purse. I returned home, searched again and then made calls to cancel credit cards and alert the bank of my lost check book that had also been in the purse. In addition to more errands, I had to go to work for a few hours before we had to leave for the graduation. The house was locked and our family was gone for hours. I returned to our house later in the day with our daughter, before my husband came home from work. I brought some groceries into the kitchen, and found to my extreme relief and gratitude that my missing purse had somehow mysteriously reappeared from I knew not where, and was sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor. I thought I was imagining things, until I picked up the purse, went through it, and found that everything was still inside. Another time I was driving home on a road I occasionally travel on. I had a lost time experience. One moment I was driving, the next I felt like I had disappeared for an unknown amount of time and then was abruptly returned to my car. I had no memory of what occurred during this lost time episode, but I had to act quickIy upon my return to my car. I was on the wrong side of the road, and had to quickly turn the steering wheel to get back on the right side of the road and avoid a car coming straight at me. It was a terrifying close call. This was nothing like driving along and finding yourself daydreaming or lost in thought. I was gone and then I was back. I still wonder sometimes. Where did I go? Thankfully, nothing like that has happened before or again. Experiences like these convince me that I live a multidimensional universe. It happened over a year ago and I was alert, attentive to the road, with no health issues or symptoms that I could attribute it to. I am a nurse, and there were no health issues or symptoms that would explain the experience. Before working as a pediatric homecare nurse, I worked for 1 1/2 years as a nurse on a hospital stroke unit and have experience knowing what to watch for. Nothing like that since thankfully!

Note from Cynthia: Thanks for sharing this remarkable experience searching for your purse that reappeared in the middle of your kitchen floor, after you'd done such a thorough search of your entire house!  It sounds like with the house locked and nobody there to hide and then return your purse, this is quite a surprising reality shift.  Your experience while driving sounds terrifying, when you found yourself back in your car--on the wrong side of the road!  It sounds like you can rule out any kind of sleepiness, drowsiness, or seizure or stroke, in which case it indeed sounds like you jumped from one reality into another.  Part of the reason I constantly ask Cosmic Mind, "How good can it get?" is to help ensure that when reality shifts, everything turns out just fine, and for the best, somehow. Your account of the reality shift while driving is all the more meaningful, given your professional experience employed as a Nurse in the Stroke Unit of a hospital.  You would definitely know the signs and indicators, so your description of what transpired is all that much more intriguing--and mysterious. Sometimes when I encounter reality shifts that do not immediately seem to convey specific meaning, I recognize that I might just be seeing yet another further example of various ways reality can shift.  Thank goodness you were alright!

Don't Get Weird on Me, People of Earth
Rosebud, Victoria, Australia

Cynthia I just wanted to relate to you an experience I had with shifting time-lines. I was given a copy on DVD of the series called People of Earth, it is comical take on alien abductions and it quite humorous, with soft disclosure in the mix. Through the series there is a saying that gets repeated five or six times. the saying is (Don't Get Weird On Me) and would make me laugh due to the scene on the DVD at the time. I gave this DVD to a friend of mine whom i knew would enjoy it, and we both work at a soup kitchen where people come to eat for free, as a result there are many usually conversions at meal time and my friend and I would say sometimes to each other, “Don't Get Weird On Me.” I watched this DVD again a few weeks back as I enjoyed the series greatly and needed a laugh. NOWHERE in the whole series is that saying Don't Get Weird On Me. I rang up my friend and asked him to watch it again and take note of that saying, The same for him; it isn't in there, what is there in it's place are the words, “Don't Get Weird, Okay.” So I believe our collective consciousness has shifted to a slightly different time-line. So it can be very subtle, and passed of as a mistake in remembering.

Note from Cynthia: Thanks for sharing your experience with a changing line from the show, People of Earth, going from "Don't get weird on me" to "Don't get weird, OK."  That might seem like a small change, but it seems pretty big to me!  And it makes me wonder if maybe there might be some way that what it's changed to might be more true (even though I'm sure it seems pretty weird).  I just came back from presenting at a Mandela Effect conference, and some of the speakers were talking about how we can look to find hidden truth in these changes. I don't watch this show, but it seems possible that now the saying is more globally relevant--so it's not just a matter of not getting weird around a particular person, but rather not getting weird at all. Fun!

Monopoly Guy
Jyderup, Zealand, Denmark

In Denmark we have a Danish version of Monopoly without the Monopoly man. But I clearly remember pictures of the American cartoon figure WITH a monocle!  Last night, I watched Ace Ventura 2 with my son and suddenly my ears pricked up! There was a glitch! Take a look at this!
I hope to meet you some day so I can give you a big hug!

Note from Cynthia: Thanks so much for sharing this excellent movie clip from Ace Ventura 2, noticing the reality residue involving the man who looks so much like the way many of us remember Rich Uncle Pennybags character looking in the American Monopoly game--complete with moustache, and monocle!  There are other identifying characteristics of this Monopoly character, such as top hat and bow tie,  yet he looks most like himself to me with the monocle, even if other details such as the top hat might be missing, as in this movie scene.

(4) Mail Bag, Questions, and Answers

Dear Cynthia,
So, how do you remember this? Daylight Savings Time or Daylight Saving Time. Records show it's Daylight Saving Time, but everyone I know says Daylight Savings Time. Is that a Mandela effect?
— Sandy

Dear Sandy,
Yes, this sounds like a Mandela Effect, indeed! I also recall hearing "Daylight Savings Time" with the plural, and the other just doesn't sound right to my ear. Thanks for mentioning this—very cool! lots of love and thanks,

Dear Cynthia,
I listened to your beautiful podcast today with Howard Hughes and it was amazing! I must say that we have very similar beliefs although we have came by them by a different path. I implore you to look into the bashar material as channeled by Darrel Anka. Bashar claims to be a 5th density entity whom along with many other civilizations is helping us by showing us what works for them. I have an open mind so the idea of channeled material was not as far fetched as most might see it. It explains what you talked about on a very deep level blending science and spirituality in a breathtaking way. It’s to beautiful not to be true. That’s my belief anyway. What is your podcast called? I would enjoy your ideas more perhaps. Thank you for your time and if you have it I would prefer a response.
— Nate

Dear Nate,
Thanks so much for writing to me, and I'm delighted to know how much you enjoyed listening to me talking with Howard Hughes on the podcast.  Thank you so much for letting me know! My podcast is called Living the Quantum Dream, and can be found here:
lots of love and thanks again,

Dear Cynthia,
I just ordered your book, Quantum Jumps. In your opinion, does the jumping realities mean that we are alone and it’s all an illusion? What do you think this means for others? If I change, does my neighbor, friend change also? So many questions!
— Rachel

Dear Rachel,
Well, I don't have all the answers, but I am definitely not in the "it's all meaningless" camp, but rather the group who really does feel life has meaning and purpose, and things like love and joy and kindness and inspiration matter. Each of us seems capable of experiencing very different realities than others—this is something I've seen again and again and again (and get a bit more into it in my book, "Reality Shifts").  The question of who we are is the actual key question that typically goes unasked and unaddressed, yet it's the key to everything.  When you consider that each of us is consciousness—is energy—is capable of experiencing life in the form of pure being-ness—then things like the idea that we never really totally die (the love is forever, as you know) becomes  much more real.

Hi Cynthia,
I thought you might find this interesting: I found you on YouTube yesterday.  I was fascinated and watched several of your videos back to back.  They somehow resonated with me.  This morning I decided to order your ebook from Amazon.  When I went to purchase I got a message from Amazon saying that I had purchased it a week ago. don’t remember purchasing the book at all before trying to purchase it today.  Today is the second day I remember watching you on YouTube. I will continue to watch your videos, pay attention, read, and to be mindful of “coincidences”.  They do seem to happen to me a lot, along with other “super”natural experiences.
Thanks for sharing your videos!
— Jane

Dear Jane,
Wow, that really is amazing that you found me twice, within a week!  Do you remember the first time you purchased my book a week ago, and how you found it?  Or was the purchase something that happened without your even knowing it occurred?  Really interesting!
love, love, love,

Dear Cynthia,
Oh my, how fast those 20 years seem to have gone by!  Congratulations to you, and I must say I am impressed because I think that my "first contact" with you was in 1993 or 1994, when I found your website.  I have no idea how I found it, but I shared a story and you replied.  I have two of your books, read your emails, and still am astounded by the power of mind and mindfulness.  My daughter lived in Oakland for a while, and I was visiting, and you were speaking or attending a conference nearby, and I tried to figure a way to get there.  It didn't look like a long or difficult drive from a map, but Either I chickened out or something happened that prevented it.  (I think I was dog-sitting for my daughter and her husband while they were on their honeymoon in Italy, and I had to make an ER trip; not sure of the timing but that's my best memory.) Anyway, I wanted you to know that you have enriched my journey, kept me from feeling so alone, and even pushed me at times to try harder!
— Lynn

Dear Lynn,
What a joy to hear from you! I love hearing how you and I go way back—to the 1990s! That's super cool! Yes, these past 20 years seem to have just flown by so very, very fast—or so it seems to me.  The power of mind and mindfulness is such a fascinating subject that for me, studying it definitely has the effect of losing track of time. Thank you much for taking the time to let me know how much you've been enjoying this journey with me, and I'm so honored and happy to know that I've provided some inspiration and encouragement on your journey.
With lots and lots of love,

Dear Cynthia,
An excellent Newsletter Cynthia. And congrats on the milestone of 20 years!! Thank you!
— Pat

Dear Pat,
Thank you so very much! Sending you lots of love and best wishes for you and yours,

Mind Beyond Matter:
The Mandela Effect

by Anthony Santosusso

Easy-to-read and hard to put down

Anthony Santosusso published an autobiographical account of his Mandela Effect experiences in his book, “Mind Beyond Matter: The Mandela Effect.” Santosusso's philosophical revelations illuminate descriptions of his experiences with consistently thought-provoking insights. Mind Beyond Matter is easy-to-read and hard to put down, as it conveys the awe, wonder, and mind-boggling nature of the Mandela Effect with exquisitely penetrating insights. One key element of Santosusso's Mandela Effect odyssey involves a seemingly impossible moment of death-defying miraculous survival of what by all rights should have been impalement. Instead of finding himself skewered by a sharp object that had been right where Santosusso fell, everything was strangely fine. This incident, and similar first-hand reports provided to him led Santosusso to consider the notion that all people who see the Mandela Effect die in some reality—yet have experiences similar to his, of miraculously surviving. What is doing the shifting is actually us in the form of consciousness, is a summary of Santosusso's take on what is going on. As he states toward the end of this excellent book, “If there is one thing I would like for you to understand, it is that these things aren't changing. The song lyrics did not change, you did! Nothing is changing, except for your consciousness and perspective.” I greatly respect Santosusso's gentle way of presenting his experiences and perspective as one person's interpretation of what seems to being going on. Santosusso invites readers of Mind Beyond Matter to contemplate the subject with their own thoughts, information, and perspective, and not to mindlessly adopt his point of view. After all, if the Mandela Effect really is all about consciousness, it only makes sense that each of us will benefit from honing our own powers of attention, awareness, and cognitive discernment, after all.  Highly recommended for anyone interested in better understanding the Mandela Effect.
