How Good Can it Get?

Make Your Best Choices

"If someone ever says you're weird, say thank you."
-- Ellen DeGeneres

One of the best things we can do when making choices in strong or changing winds of life is to adjust our sails. The idea is that rather than getting swept away in directions that don’t work best, we can proceed toward our goals and stay focused on sources of inspiration that best feed the body, mind and spirit.

There is an advantage in adapting oneself to changing times, while simultaneously relaxing into being more fully yourself—even when being you stands out in sharp contrast with prevailing thoughts and viewpoints of the time. Sometimes this may seem a bit weird to others, and if anyone comments, that’s the time to be sure to thank them for noticing. And who knows? They might at some point recognize the unique gifts your particular brand of weirdness brings.

Speaking of unique gifts, I greatly enjoyed participating in the Foundations of Mind (FOM) conference, founded by Seán Ó Nualláin, which was held last month in San Francisco at the California Institute of Integral Studies. At a time when many neuroscientists are attempting to locate consciousness in physical neurological systems, many scientists—including some of the original "hippies who saved physics" have world-changing ideas about the true nature of reality, objectivity, free will, and how our choices interact with nature.

Ruth Kastner presented a different perspective on the topic of free will than the currently prevailing view amongst most quantum physicists--that there is no such thing as personal choice; it's all probabilities. Kastner contends that we do have free will, as she guided us through an exploration of considering oneself as a 'quantum system' in a ready state. It's clear when envisioning this scenario that each person is enormously complex while existing in an open (rather than closed) state. Choices are not really quantum observables, and each choice option is not represented by an eigenvalue. It is thus physically inaccurate, for example, to call a choice made by Hitler a "quantum defined observable." Kastner reminded us of a quote by Freeman Dyson, "... mind is already inherent in every electron, and the processes of human consciousness differ only in degree but not in kind from the processes of choice between quantum states which we call 'chance' when they are made by electrons.”

You can get a behind-the-scenes peek at some of the highlights from FOM4 in my blog post about this exciting “Quantum Physics Meets Neuroscience” conference at:

(3) Your Reality Shift Stories

Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars Change
Rotterdam, Netherlands

2017 has just started, and I’ve had a shift with the singer Bruno Mars. While watching his videoclip several times this year, I thought, “Wow, this Bruno Mars guy is cool. Where is he actually from? Mexico, right?” I thought, “Yeah, it must be,” because I saw several people on MTV talking about him and on the internet, saying he had a bad youth and a thug life in Mexico. Now it turns out that he is Hawaiian, Puerto Rican, or something. How did that happen? Why did it happen? There is not another Mexican singer that might look or sound like Bruno Mars—nothing similar. I guess it’s an indication of being in an other parallel reality. And an indication that such shifts can really happen, and we can change our lives. Things can be different.

Note from Cynthia: Thanks for writing to me about remembering that Bruno Mars is now known for having been born and raised in Hawaii, while you recall that he 'used to be from Mexico.' If there is nobody else like Bruno Mars to you--then I definitely agree with you that your memory of how Bruno Mars used to have come from a rough childhood in Mexico absolutely indicates that just about anything can happen!

Sunglasses & Ear Plug Replacements Arrive
St Johnsville, New York, USA

Two similarly strange things happened: (1) After I left a local library, I was walking to my auto mechanics to get my car, and then I noticed that I didn't have my sunglasses--but I didn't want to go back and get them. As I rounded a corner, I looked down and saw a pair of sunglasses on the sidewalk. I picked them up, and they still had the tags on them. (2) I have these ear plugs that I sometimes wear to bed. and I lost them in the laundry. About a five days later, I was walking about town and saw a little plastic container on the sidewalk. Inside the container were a pair of earplugs that were like mine, except they were a different color. I don't know if this has any thing to do with reality shifts, but I thought it was interesting.

Note from Cynthia: Thanks so much for sharing these extraordinary events you've recently encountered in which previously missing items were almost immediately replaced! Yes, these sorts of reality shifts often do happen in which something we suddenly notice missing might "come back" to us either directly by the actual missing object surprising us by its unexpected and sometimes inexplicable return, and other times by our being gifted with an excellent replacement.

Door Locked Differently

There was no special planning or purpose behind writing this mail, except that what happened today was surprising for me. Today in the evening I was with one of my friend casually discussing about some things—then suddenly, discussion got switched to a new topic: if we can change our past. Then we decided to watch some videos related to this on youtube. So when I got back to my room, I was trying to open the door and when I pulled on the door, I came to know that the door was latched on the lower bolt—what I never used to do! I always put it on the upper bolt! One more thing; first I thought, “Maybe someone opened my room in my absence,” because most of the time I hang my key over a key hanger. But today my key was with me, and there is no other key for it! I didn’t pay attention, then just after some time I got to watch your videos talking about parallel worlds and reality shifts. I was wondering if what happened with this door is an example of a reality shift—or is it just an illusion? I am seriously interested to know how these shifts happen—what is the science behind them?

Note from Cynthia: Thank you so very much for writing to me and sharing your experience with coming back to your room to find the door locked with the lower bolt, which you never utilize. It sounds like nobody else could have easily come along and changed the way your door was locked--right? If so, then yes, this does sound like a reality shift experience to me, in which something physically transforms without any explanation for how that might have happened--other than a shift in reality. The short answer to your question of what's the explanation for why we notice such seemingly inexplicable shifts in reality is that we live in a reality that is fundamentally quantum in nature--meaning that everyone and everything is connected (entangled), and everyone and everything exists in a superposition of states (of possibilities)--and thanks to our true identity being that we exist in the form of consciousness, we are able to experience 'reality shifts' and 'quantum jumps' that are like spontaneous transformations to physical reality, much the way quantum particles can instantaneously teleport, change state, or assume a particular measurable attribute. There is as yet no definitive scientific proof with regard to our true identity being pure consciousness, since we as yet have no way to measure nor predict consciousness experimentally. But increasingly, we are seeing evidence for macroscopic (large scale) quantum behaviors occurring regularly in nature all around us every day. Thanks to such macro-scale quantum processes, our bodies can function properly, photosynthesis works efficiently, and we live in a remarkably fine-tuned universe.

(4) Questions and Answers

Dear Cynthia,
I have a question, it's about astrology and tarot reading, does quantum jumping transcends the influence of the planets or by quantum jumping we are able to reach a place where the universe (planets) supports our inner world? Also, you mention something about this reality being dream like, and I was wondering whose dream is it we are living? God's?
— Paulina

Dear Paulina,
I like this question, since it's along the lines of something I've been noticing and giving some thought recently. I was recently at a dinner where one person mentioned a new (to most of us) divination system involving matching birthdays to playing cards. I noticed, as did several others present, that for those of us who 'believed in such things' (that such a divination system could provide us with relevant insights as to our personality characteristics) the readings seemed quite insightful and resonant. We also noticed that for those of us present who rather emphatically did not believe in such things, the divination readings did not seem to be a good fit at all. My view of this, and my view of how most all divination systems work, is that quantum jumping is the key ingredient in the way astrological readings and tarot readings work--as well as the way that these readings sometimes seem to be much more attuned to people and accurate for some people and at some times than others. Your question about whose dream we're living is excellent--meaning it's a tough one to answer. Ultimately, it makes sense that we're living God's dream, for those of us who believe in God. And simultaneously, each of us lives in a kind of illusion that we're only living our own lives.
With love and thanks,
— Cynthia

Dear Cynthia,
Hello, happy new year! I made a mistake where I threw away my old stories, and I regret it deeply. Is there any way that I can shift reality/change the past so that I can get them back? Like one day I’ll wake up and they’ll be there?
— Sunny

Dear Sunny,
This sort of thing is possible for people who can be open-minded at all levels (head, heart, gut) all the way through to the subconscious. If you’re not yet so open-minded, you can become more open by reading people’s reality shifting experiences as posted at the RealityShifters website until such things start seeming perfectly normal. Once you’re feeling accepting that such a change could happen for you, it’s helpful to believe your stories will find their way back to you, and any time the matter of your stories comes to mind, remember to relax, stay open-minded, take a deep breath, and feel grateful and trusting that at some point, they’ll be back somehow. Many people including myself have experienced lost things returning to them this way.
— Cynthia

Hi, Cynthia!
I just saw your interview on Gaia and listened to a number of your utube videos. I wanted to share an experience I had and get your take on it. I had a VERY vivid dream a few months ago. In the dream I woke up in my bedroom got up looked around and noticed there were differences. Then I woke up again in a new bedroom, also different, looked around noticed a different husband. Then I woke up again, and again and again over and over again in different places different realities. When I finally woke up in my own bed I was so disoriented I didn't know what was going on. It took about ten minutes of laying there waiting to jump again before I accepted I was back where I belonged. I was freaked out at first but after getting grounded in this reality again I started thinking about how cool it was, and wondering what the heck I was supposed to learn from this wild dream. Do you have any insight you could share about this kind of experience? I'd love to hear what you think.
— Connie

Dear Connie,
Thanks so much for writing to me about your vivid dream that left you feeling understandably disoriented. With so many instances of waking up inside that dream, I wonder if you were at any point aware that 'this is a dream' (ie: lucid dreaming). Either way, my take on your dream is that it seems to present a fairly clear sense of asking you questions such as, "Who are you?" and "What is really real?" and "How do you know?" Your answers to whatever questions you feel your dream was asking you are the most important ones for you right now--and you might well notice questions other than the ones I mention here. I appreciate experiences that lead to such questions, since I find that life's journey lies in the exploration and search for answers. :-)
With love and thanks and best wishes for a happy new year,
— Cynthia

Primal Fat Burner

Primal Fat Burner Live Longer, Slow Aging, Super-Power Your Brain and Save Your Life With a High-Fat, Low-Carb Paleo Diet
by Nora Gedgaudas

Eat Fat and Get Thin, Smart, and Savvy

Amidst revolutionary dietitians, Nora Gedgaudas stands out, leading a return to a primal diet rich in natural healthy fats that has the power to help us lose weight, reduce depression and anxiety, minimize seizures and migraines, enhance cognitive functioning, and improve just about every facet of physical and emotional health imaginable. Primal Fat Burner shows how we can harness the power of ketones, quality fats, and fat-soluble nutrients to optimize the functioning of our heart, brain, immune system and metabolism. The low-carb paleo diet that Gedgaudas recommends has roots in ancient historical foods that our bodies are equipped to process, while eliminating new-fangled 'foods' that are increasingly at the root of cascading health problems for the unsuspecting. Consequences of the sugar industry shifting blame to fat are staggering, as the sugar industry paid scientists in the 1960s to play down the link between sugar and heart disease, and unfairly blame saturated fat as the culprit instead. Americans thus unnecessarily reduced dietary fat that could have helped prevent our increasing girth, while needlessly increasing rates of cardiopulmonary disease. What most astonished me while reading Primal Fat Burner is that a ketogenic (fat-burning) diet switches metabolism from depending so heavily on sugars to running on healthy fats in a manner that sharpens the brain, bolsters immunity, reduces risk of some chronic illnesses, and even can lengthen one's life. I learned from trying this ketogenic diet that I was less hungry once I added more fat to my diet, so I could reduce the number of calories consumed without feeling I was starving myself. I thus naturally wound up eating a bit less, without feeling deprived and over-eating as much in the colder, rainy winter months. As Nora says, "Fat is where it's at!" and I can attest to the success of initiating such a diet. Primal Fat Burner has four sections, with the first section providing an overview of what it's all about, the second section providing some of the framework for how each person can individualize their dietary changes, the third section providing details about nutrients and various health issues, and the fourth section suggesting a meal plan complete with recipes and foods to seek as well as foods to avoid. Primal Fat Burner is such a complete book that I feel I'm learning something every time I pick it up--frequently discovering or re-discovering an information tidbit that totally catches me off guard, and often in a good way. One such surprise came from opening the book up to a section on protecting your brain for life, where Gedgaudas writes, "For the record, I personally never like to see total cholesterol below 200 mg/dL, particularly in older women, for whom higher cholesterol is a longevity marker. When cholesterol update or availability by the brain gets impaired, Alzheimer's risk goes up." This is the kind of information I wish I'd hear from doctors and medical advice sources, rather than across-the-board warnings to always avoid high cholesterol! A sampler of some of the five so-called 'unhealthy' foods that are actually good for most of us include: bacon, fattier cuts of beef, egg yolks, and dark meat poultry. Some of the so-called 'healthy' foods warned about in this book include: 'low-cholesterol' vegetable fats, agave syrup, whole grains and legumes (especially soy!), tuna and potatoes. I've been savoring this book slowly for over a month now, and can tell this is one of those 'lifetime' books I'll likely have on hand for years, if not decades to come. Highly recommended!
