Changing the Physical Universe With Our Thoughts and Feelings

Things We Say Today

"You have it easily in your power to increase the sum total of
this world's happiness now. How? By giving a few words of sincere
appreciation to someone who is lonely or discouraged. Perhaps you
will forget tomorrow the kind words you say today, but the
recipient may cherish them over a lifetime."
- Dale Carnegie

Our words affect much more than the people who hear us say them. They also affect us as we speak them, by reinforcing a particular way we view reality. The way we tell every story from our lives transforms our perspective of what's happening. As the observer changes the world with the act of observation, we shift reality with our passionately spoken words. Perhaps even more than "A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips", the lifetimes of words far exceed that of their speakers.

Take a moment to feel the beauty and healing power of Martin Luther King's immortal words, "I have a dream", and ask yourself... what is YOUR dream for the world? For your country? For your neighborhood? For yourself? Intend that your words will be an expression of your highest potential, and you will bring more healing, compassion, and love to the world.

Recent studies show how our words affect even supposedly inanimate things, such as tiny drops of water. According to THE MESSAGE FROM WATER, one of this month's book recommendations, words such as "beautiful" and "dirty" change the physical appearance of a frozen crystal to look either beautiful or dirty... and the purifying effects of prayer on water can clearly be seen. If you have trouble believing this, try a do-it-yourself "Do Thoughts Create?" experiment listed in the Noteworthy Web Sites section of this ezine.

In the aftermath of this week's terrorist attack, it is essential for us to remember that our words and feelings can either serve to heal our world with love, bringing us more of what we most enjoy -- or they can cause further pain and suffering. We have an opportunity now to join together and envision the kind of world we most wish to live in. As we feel true gratitude for what we love the most, we will be reinforcing it's existence in this world.

Wishing you all the best,
Cynthia Sue Larson

(1) Intriguing Articles

by Cynthia Sue Larson

What can we do when things are going terribly wrong, and we're feeling angry, hurt, and resentful? A seemingly uncooperative window shade showed me that sometimes all we need to do is relax, let go of anger and frustration, and allow reality to shift.

(2) Your Reality Shift Stories

About three weeks ago I returned from a weekend of camping, and unloaded my car. I took almost everything out of the inside, and returned some items to the trunk. The back seat was empty but for two flat soda boxes off to the far side of the seat. When I was ready to drive somewhere again, I went to get my car keys which I had placed on the kitchen table alongside my sunglasses. The sunglasses were there, but the car keys, dangling from a palm-sized black leather-zippered coin and snap pocket "purse", were missing. I then thoroughly searched the car inside, looking everywhere: under the seats, on the side of the doors, in the glove compartment, and on the back seat. I picked up the soda boxes and looked under them, and even opened up the trunk and looked there. No luck. I left, using my spare key, and returned home later that evening. Again, I looked throughout the car before retiring.

The next day, I went out to my car -- and there were my car keys, just sitting there on the back seat! I have no children or anyone who would play a trick on me. These are experiences that I have always referred to as "Cosmic Chuckles" - the universe having a laugh at my expense.

Fighting Shadow

This is a summary describing how to do everything you've seen in the film, The Matrix, in what I call Project Runway.

A few days ago, on a nice sunny Monday, I went with a friend to test a theory I've had for a while. We went to a local park for a new type of long-jump. Neither of us had been in track or sports for at least a year. We set up some sticks in front of a hill for us to jump over. Our objective was similar to what Morpheus advised Neo in the movie The Matrix, "Let it all go, Neo. Fear, doubt, disbelief [and love (explained later)]."

We started small, jumped it, then made the jump larger. This went on for 20 minutes before I looked at how far our last successful jump was. I couldn't comprehend it (and had to quit for the day because I started thinking about it). From only jogging (if we ran, we only got half-way), we both successfully jumped 16 size 13 feet! (we had no ruler). As in, take a size 13 shoe, and step 16 times, heel-to-toe. Quite a long way for jogging, huh? I swear we flew for at least a few feet as well, when we did it right, because sometime in mid-air, I felt completely joyful, and closed my eyes. You'll have to try it to find out though...

You try it: Method explained.

My theory involved letting go, as explained above. But first, here's some history. No "finding lost objects" techniques ever worked for me, not even using my awesome "third eye manifestation". So, soon after I started thinking of the body as a "shell", I said "shell, find my book." and it did, instantly. Then my towel, then another book, etc. Later, I remembered it's just energy linked to the mind. So I consider it a function, not even a physical thing (this is important in letting go).

Then, sometime after that, I began experimenting more, and learned to stop thinking. Yes, when you don't think, sparring's easier, and so are sports. In order to obtain this state, I decided to use the Buddhist practice of mindfulness. It clears the mind quite well. Remember people telling you "not to think about it so much"? Well, forget that, just don't think. Now, one last thing. I said that you'd have to let go of love as well. I believe this is explained somewhere on realityshifters.com in the Let Go of Wishes article ( http://realityshifters.com/pages/articles/letgoofwishes.html). The idea is, you can't hold on to love, so just let it go, and it will flow naturally. Love is also the energy to live, fly, etc. (YES! You DON'T need to spend years gathering energy!) What I have learned is something others have also felt and written about. Reading Communion With God and Illusions helps a lot in understanding this. Remember to just let it go, and let it flow. Most importantly (because you have to stop thinking once you start running) is to trust yourself.

Ready now? Here's how I did it.

1. Set up your sticks/markers. Start out small if you're new.
2. Find a place to start (I started on a small hill).
3. Let go of all fears, doubts, worries, etc.
5. Tell your body to jump the distance.
6. Trust your self, AND your body.
7. Be mindful, and clear your mind.
8. Everything will suddenly just "click", and you'll know it's time to start.
9. Keep a clear mind, free from negative thoughts, and don't force anything. The speed of your run does NOT matter. Trust you will fly.
10. Repeat until you want to stop.

Tomorrow or the next day, I'm going out to train again with my friend. I know I flew, and I'm gonna do more than just jump far.

More than a year ago, my son rented a house with very tall weeds in the back yard. He and my husband got out there with my husband's machete, and worked all day to get the weeds under control. Somehow, they lost the machete. I wasn't with them at the time, so there is no way I could have known what became of it. A few weeks ago my son was moving, and on the last night at the old house, we joined him and his wife for a barbecue. For no particular reason that I can tell you, except that I was feeling restless, I got up from the table on the patio and walked across the yard. At one point I stopped, again for no particular reason I was conscious of at the time. I looked down, and there was the machete, barely visible through the grass. I guess it didn't want to be left behind!

Raleigh, North Carolina

My girlfriend, Dorothy, was dying from cancer. We were best friends since we were kids. Her husband, Big Jim, called me to tell me that she only had a week to live. I went down to Florida to see her one last time and got to see her that afternoon and evening.

The next morning I awoke in my motel room because I heard loud "static." It seemed to be coming from the walls by the foot of my bed, so I figured someone next door was taking a shower or something and decided to go back to sleep. It was 7:00 AM.

A few minutes later, I heard static again, and noticed that this time it came from the head of my bed! I turned on the light to look around, and decided it must be the clock radio. That made sense, so I turned it off so I could go back to sleep. When I reached to turn off the light, it wouldn't turn off! I tried and tried, and then got up out of bed and tried again, but, it would not turn off! So, I unscrewed the bulb and went back to bed.

The phone rang a few minutes later. It was Dorothy's family, calling to tell me Dorothy had just passed away. I said that I knew! How she found me in that motel room proves how quickly spirits can be everywhere!

When I went to Dorothy's house to visit her family, I knew they would be distraught. But, I believe that when someone dies they are going to a far, far better place where they will be happy, healthy, peaceful and free! I found her husband to be in very low spirits, as I expected. I told him and his grown children what had happened to me in the motel room and to "look for other signs." I wasn't too sure this was the right time or place, but I went with my feelings and said it, anyway.

They knew I was a Reiki Master and how spiritual I was, but they didn't have a clue about "looking for signs." Nor did they believe me at first. I told them to be especially aware of electricity and little things they will recognize.

Well, a little while later, Dorothy's refrigerator started acting up. It stopped dispensing ice water. Big Jim started to take the door apart and I just looked at him and smiled. He looked up at me and said, "Dorothy?" Then, later, as we were all sitting around talking, I noticed the kitchen clock Dorothy had made... the second had was trying to move, but was "stuck." I asked if it was broken, and they said, "no." Then, they all looked up and saw what I saw. They all said, "Dorothy?!"

The next day when I went to visit, they were all excited. First the ice maker wouldn't make ice. Then it made so much ice that it was falling out the door! Then, when they were talking about Dorothy, pots and pans "fell in the cabinet" when no one was nearby!

When I arrived back in Raleigh, I walked into my house and the first light I turned on blew out! I knew she was saying, "I followed you home!" "I'm still here with you!"

A few days later, I got a call from Big Jim. He said he wanted to thank me for giving him his wife back! Then, he shared this story... His father had suffered a stroke and Big Jim wanted to see him. But, he knew he had already taken all his pay and vacation days to take care of Dorothy. After the funeral, he happened to glance at Dorothy's cordless phone and saw that his company had called him and that he missed the call.

He called them back, and they told him they had found two weeks vacation with pay that he was still entitled to. This made it possible for him to fly up to see his Dad. He thanked them for calling, and they said, "We didn't call!" He said, "Well, yes you did, it's right here on my Caller I.D." And, when he looked at the phone, the number was gone!

I believe we all have a life plan to follow and that we have free will to follow that plan any way we choose. When we have completed our mission, we are free to go home.

Just because our loved ones die doesn't mean their love dies, too. They are still with us and around us. We just have to look for signs. They are still loving us and helping us -- we just need to realize they are there.

Message From Water

Telling Us to Take a Look at Ourselves
by Masaru Emoto

THE MESSAGE FROM WATER is packed with photographs of water droplets which have been frozen for two hours and magnified 200 to 500 times. These large, glossy photos look something like snowflakes, where no two images are identical -- yet certain patterns become immediately apparent. Japanese researcher Masaru Emoto describes in this book how his original quest to depict the natural beauty of water led him to discover that clean, pure water from natural unpolluted sources looks much more brilliant in color and more symmetrical in shape than chemically treated or polluted water. This assertion is made abundantly clear when one views the various images in this book and sees for oneself how chemically treated water crystals appear dark and misshapen while clean water appears bright and jewel- like. Emoto could have stopped his research there and still had an amazing book, but he continued his ground-breaking research to experiment with treating water with a variety of phrases, music, and prayer -- showing how our words, thoughts, and feelings have a visceral effect on water. This extraordinary book is a must for anyone who wishes to see for themselves what effect pollution and stressful thoughts and feelings are having on Earth's water -- and how we can change these effects with meditation, prayer, healing words, and music. Since most of our bodies and most of the surface of the Earth is made of water, THE MESSAGE FROM WATER has tremendous significance for us all.

Evolving Human

by Penny Kelly

THE EVOLVING HUMAN is a fascinating account of Penny Kelly's kundalini awakening in 1979. I love the way Kelly shares the full breadth and depth of her highly personal experience, and the way she describes the many varied effects of kundalini (such as heightened sensory and extra-sensory awareness). In sequential fashion, Kelly tells the story of how she first entered the realm of "I AM" knowingness, and how she gradually began to feel and appreciate the way her kundalini experience sensitized her to the world. Little by little, Kelly found herself learning to use the great power and wisdom conferred by kundalini, even as her rational mind continued to search for answers and a deep understanding of what had happened to her. In addition to providing a personal record of kundalini awakening, THE EVOLVING HUMAN also has a series of appendixes which provide a description of the stages of human spiritual evolution, and some useful pointers for analyzing dreams, and improving one's telepathic skills.

In one of the most fascinating parts of this book, Kelly describes how she lived through a period of time in which she felt herself living out two future paths along with her normal day-to-day life. One was much "safer" yet ultimately less satisfying, while the other was more true to living up to her full spiritual potential. She chose the path of fulfilling her potential, and I am certain that the world is a much better place for it! Kelly now lives at Lily Hill Farm in Michigan, where she teaches classes about developing intuition as she works in the gardens, barns, and kitchens. THE EVOLVING HUMAN began as a series of hand-outs for these classes, and due to popular demand grew into this beautiful book.

My kundalini awakening took place in 1994, and many things Kelly describes in THE EVOLVING HUMAN remind me of experiences I've lived through. How wonderful it is to have this book at one's side, as reassurance that kundalini is a normal part of the process of human spiritual evolution. I give this book my highest recommendation for anyone who wishes to better understand how the kundalini experience transforms one's life.

Spirit of the Shuar

by John Perkins and Chumpi

My hopes were very high when I began reading SPIRIT OF THE SHUAR, because I've read and loved other books by John Perkins. I was surprised and delighted to find that this book far surpassed all my expectations! I found it to be especially intriguing, because it was written in large part by the Shuar themselves.

The Shuar share their wisdom about how they dream the world, talk with the dead, balance the needs of men and women, keep peace and wage war, practice the ancient art of shamanic journeying, and learn from the sacred teacher plants (ayahuasca, datura, chicha, and tobacco) in the Amazon jungle they inhabit. The Shuar tell their legends and personal stories about living in the jungle in this book in such a conversational style that I feel I am sitting among them.

After reading this book, I feel I can understand why people take psychotropic plants in order to better understand their unique place in this world. I also find myself feeling deeply touched by the way the Shuar have long reached out to others in different societies to form special bonds of friendship and cooperation. The obvious sincerity with which the Shuar express themselves comes shining through in this book. It is quite convincing to me and helps open my mind to every topic they discuss, even subjects that surprise me, such as: head-hunting, marital relationships, or how they share wisdom from the teaching plants with their hunting dogs and children.

Anyone interested in indigenous wisdom, different ways of living, or shapeshifting will definitely be fascinated by this excellent book by John Perkins and Shuar shapeshifter Chumpi. SPIRIT OF THE SHUAR is a masterpiece that lives on in one's heart for a lifetime.
